MP3 (Only 128Kbps unfortunately) downloads of Radio 3 broadcast of BBC Philharmonic doing all of Beethoven's symphonies. Not all of them have been broadcast yet. Each one is only up for a week after it's been broadcast so download it now if you want it since they start disappearing on Monday.

Random side note: From an inexpensive classical music CD club (a la BMG), I got the complete Beethoven Symphonies by the Ljubljana Radio Symphony Orchestra (bonzi, have you heard of them?). It's really quite a good set, and it cost next to nothing.

I'll have to compare my sad 128 rip to the downloads. Or, are they unsaveable streams? Hm... Thanks for the link!

Ljubljana Radio Symphony Orchestra is the only Slovenian orchestra I listened to, and they were quite decent, AFAIR.

BBC recordings are normal downloadable mp3s, with all movements and preceding comments together in one file.

Same here. I lost 1 and 3 too. Anyone is so kind to share theirs? I can provide an FTP server to upload them to, if needed.

Thank you very much for letting us know, tman!

Thank you very much. It turns out those on your web space are the only oens I could get. Trasnfer for 2,4 and 5 form BBC was terribly slow (I am connecting from a 20Mbps, fiber optics link, so I do have bandwith here at the office) and eventually dropped. Now, there's no mp3 on line any longer, it seems. I'll try again tomorrow.

I've removed them due to bandwith concerns, if you need them let me know and I can set up something.

I need symphonies 1-5 and I'm willing to host them for a few gigabytes if I can get the copies. Anyone want to put them up for a few hours?

Thanks a ton - I'm downloading now. Link to follow!

EDIT:
Good lord, the cable company has capped my uplink to 2kb/sec... I started with Symph 4 and there is an estimated wait of 4 hours. I'll queue everything up to run overnight here at work.

EDIT:
New Upload speed: 24K. Est. upload time: 3 hours.

EDIT:
Here are the links:

Alright guys, I'll leave these up until my hosting company sends me the autowarning on bandwidth overage, so you guys have about 200 gigs to use.

Thanks to Michael up there for sharing!

I've pulled the http link.

I made all the symphonies available via bit torrent. Tracker URL is:

http://writerferret.dyndns.org:6969

As always, if you download, please stay connected for a few days and share the bittorrent love. If the bittorrent tracker isn't working, please let me know. I swapped out to the DD-WRT firmware on my linksys and I'm quite frankly not sure if I forwarded everything correctly

I've still got symphs 1-5 up. If anyone would like me to host 6-7, I can mirror them for a few hundred more gigs...
