I use to live in a place (North Dakota) where our doors would stay unlocked 24/7 and I even left the keys in my car (in a change holder that was hidden from view). I wouldn't even dream of doing that now. The doors in my house stay unlocked when I'm home, but not even while running to the store down the street if I'm not there. One of the girls I work with had her downstairs neighbors house broken into - the thief just kicked the door in in broad daylight. Its getting scary nowadays.
