Had I come home to find the thief there, and had I a gun.. I would have used it. Here in Texas it is legal to shoot and kill a thief, as long as he is in your home. Outside is another story.

I am still angry that it happened at all. But on the other hand, I am glad I did not walk in on him, no telling if he had a gun or not, and I dont think HE would have hesitated.

Insurance.. well, I got a check from them. Not for the full value of anything.. more for their idea of replacement costs. I received about half of what I was expecting/hoping for.

The real jab is I cant spend it on replacing my stuff.. I suddenly need the money for transmission work on my car. Does it ever end?!?!

Again, I am lucky that the thief did not take my player.. and even though my car is far and away.. I now take it with me most everywhere I go. Its not safe unless its in my hands. At least until I get mugged I guess!
