I actually just used their internal version of the LAME encoder back when I used to rip to mp3. I used to set that to VBR-1, joint stereo, and somthin else that's prolly obvious, but I forget what exactly it is. =P

Those settings are very out of date. Better to use a recent version of LAME as an external encoder and use "--alt-preset standard" or "--alt-preset extreme" if you have goldenish ears.
