Just a reminder, really.

It now seems commonplace for many of us to be installing 80GB and 120GB drives into the Empeg/Rio Car players.

Which means it will soon be more common to hear of 160GB (or larger) drives being used.

There is a dangerous pitfall with these drives: your data WILL be corrupted if you ever install a stock player kernel into a system with a 160GB (or larger) drive installed.

Thus, the usual sequence for many people here:
  • install the new big drive
  • format it all using the big builder image: okay
  • install the v2.01 player image from Windoze: instant corruption.
Only the Hijack kernels should ever be used with drives that large.
