I'm with Drakino in the 802.11b camp. Plenty of b/w for streaming music & control screens. As far as I can tell Drakino, you're about where I am: no direct empeg control via Ipaq. I'm trying to get jemplode to run in the Jeode JVM but no luck so far (only about 15 minutes of fiddling & I haven't gotten jemplode to install). Displayserver is a javascript applet and as such is not supported at all in Pocket IE.

Paul, you're right on the money: no line of sight access to my empeg from the listening room (or porch in this case). So far the only music streaming direct to Ipaq I've been able to achieve is the Live365 applet (although streaming & control are two different goals). WMPlayer "can" do it although only with .wma files and I never got it to work as it requires a web server too (ugh on W98). Direct control of empeg via Ipaq also still eludes me.

I was hoping you had a secret recipie!

just say you weren't paying much attention...
