I had the same problem in my car.

I read my car's manual.
I found the electrical schema for the ISO connector (for speakers and so on ..)
The difference is for me the pin 5 that is used for the remote amp (act as a switch to enable or disable amplifier)
I am absolutely not a specialist but after asking many questions on the BBS, i was said some car have a manufacturely built-in amp installed.
Never seen ?

I bought 2 iso connector whith free wire to one side
1 to cojnnect to empeg docking sled empeg is female so the connector must be male

and a 2nd to connect to my car (male, i think for most (all ?) of cars ISO is male)
so the connector is a female.

then you connect male and female together and you will have a connector .

So, even if you dont have an amp at this time you can even do your connector but you will have to let free the remote amp wire and use it later if you dont have an amp.
