I was more interested in sniffing my department's wired network, and Net Stumbler only works with wireless cards.



Linux and any number of packages... ethereal, ntop....



Still, very useful for when I finally get an 802.11 card working in my wife's laptop (the Linksys one sucked and wouldn't work with our router). Thanks.



The Lucent cards are more than worth their price. Most of the cheaper cards use a cheaper radio, which causes the noise floor to be about -72db, the lucents are ~ -92db, so they will work in worse conditions without problems.

I tried a few linksys's.... returned them quickly.
