It doesn't have to be well thought out. This is its competition. Not the $1000 Empeg.

This unit has the Neo beat by $100. Previous to this unit, Neo was the only company selling to this segment of the market (people that want cheap hard drive-based MP3 capability in their car). This is why this is a big deal.

As for laptop connectivity... The Neo has an optional USB adapter. I wouldn't be surprised if this unit is compatible with the Neo sled. If it isn't, I'm sure they will make one.

On another note:
This thread was posted in Off-Topic for a reason. It is not related to Empeg. This means that this post was simply meant to inform about a new product.
