Im about to start trying to fabricate a console for my 2001 Dodge Ram to fit where the fold down cupholders are now all the way up to the front seat. My questions are:

1. what is the best way to do this to make it look like a factory install.
2. What is the best materials to use it out of.
3. Should I give up on using anything but plywood and carpet because everything else would be out of my league.

I would really appreciate some input on this, especially from yall that have an experience doing this.
