is there any FREE software that will run on a remote Win2k Pro? Here's my situation. One of my clients has their location here in los angeles, and the shipping warehouse is at memphis, tennessee. the idea is to be able to set up some kind of tcp/ip printing (w/o dedicated print server) on the w2k pro workstation over there, so they can print orders directly to the warehouse instead of faxing.

i looked into the web printing that iis/personalwebmanager comes with, but frankly, i dont wan't any passwords required to print.

any thoughts?

Isn't that just what the TCP/IP Printer Service does?

It's included in NT, 2000 and XP. Just enable the service, and share your printers. You can use the Windows Networking share name as the LPD remote queue name.

AFAIK, no authentication is involved.
