I work near I-20 in Dallas/Fort Worth, and occassionally at work I will pick up what sounds like CB radio traffic (~27MHz) and almost always my Cingular TDMA (~800MHz). Any ideas on how this "noise" could get coupled into the audio path? I have witnessed (like many others I am sure) TDMA noise on a PC with a typical sound card / speaker setup as well.

Curious - I originally (a LOOOOONGGGG time ago) complained about interference due to the use of 27 MHz FM CB in my Mk 1 installation: it turned out that the problem was with the installation of the CB Transceiver in my car, which I sorted with a power line filter to the CB and the empeg. I haven't had a direct problem since even when using an unshielded transceiver in the car since.....

Sometimes it can happen if the station transmitting has enough power.

I was in a parking lot in my teens and a car 2 spots over from me keyed up his CB which was using a 1500w Linear and he came through the stereo in my car..... AND MY STEREO WAS OFF!!!!

Damn - I live in Lewisville too but work in downtown Dallas. You would think that we could live a little closer to where we work.

But back to the subject.. it isnt uncommon for my desktop computer at work to pick up CB signals once in a while.. I dont know why. One thing I do notice is that the signals I do get appear to be from the same person. Weird.

But, the desktop PC is not too far removed from my empeg.. both are computers after all..
