Now that winamp 3 is out and I actually put it on my laptop.... after a few problems and "getting used to it" I really like the skinning capabilities of it (something sonique has done for a very long time). However was sad to see no empeg skin (Mk1 or Mk2) maybe one of our wonderfull artistic/coder types can get this done for us. I did a search and only saw one thread on this a year ago. My iPod skin is pretty cool though...... but not 1/2 as cool as an empeg one would be

thanks all.

winamp 3 was too different for me, still using 2.7 something. I didnt look at the skin stuff though.

I tried winamp 3 for a while because I really like the skinning stuff that you can do with it, but I recently reverted back to 2. something. Winamp is trying a bit too hard with their latest release. I just want something that plays my music and I can set up playlists easily on. I don't need to have all the bells and whistles that 3 has. Plus its a bit buggy and slow, and some of the ease of use functionality is gone.

yeah, I agree it's taking me some time getting used to it, and I can't seem to change any options that I once previously could with 2.78 and below, not to mention that you can't enque a folder by right clicking it, you have to drag and drop it into the playlist. at least from what I've seen.

I was just looking for a reason to keep it, and an empeg skin would definitely do that . since I'm on weekend nights, and occasionally get some free time, I may try to work on it, but I kinda get sidetracked easily. we'll see.

Gotta second that. I cannot stand Winamp 3. I do NOT need it to try to play movies, I don't like the playlist saving crap, I just really don't like much about it. I simply want to be able to double click a file, and hear it. That's it. Don't grab the avi file associations away from mplayer2. That's probably my biggest gripe. Just annoyed me to no end. I already HAVE software for playing mpg, avi, flc, etc... I do NOT need a fuggin mini browser, I do NOT need my mp3 player trying to take over the OS like winamp3 does.
