Of those who've heard it, what do you think?

I mean, what am I? I'm a middleweight. Hey, I'm not the smartest guy in the world, but I'm certainly not the dumbest. I mean, I've read books like "Unbearable Lightness of Being" and "Love in the Time of Cholera." And I think I've understood them. They're about girls, right? Just kidding. But I have to say...my all-time favorite book is Johnny Cash's autobiography "Cash" by Johnny Cash.

--Rob, HIgh Fidelity

I've never read the book, but I'm reminded that I should every time I see high fidelity...

All I've heard from it is the cover of "Hurt," which I think is quite good, and Mr Reznor would be a fan of the video, I think.

Damn good album - just fired it onto the empeg 2 days ago. He's still got it, as they say. Seriously attacks the subwoofer

I also recently heard his cover of Soundgarden's "Rusty Cage." I didn't think it was possible, but he pulled it off and it sounds really good! Damn tallented, he is.

Okay, first, i love Johnny Cash. Second, i thought this album was a load of horse matter. Is he really that out of ideas to be doing NIN covers?? Come on man. Seriously. I mean it still sounds like Johnny, but in the end it's Johnny doing weird covers. Soulless... ya know?

Well, he's done Soundgarden and Danzig covers before, and I thought they were pretty good. Though I'd rather hear his original stuff.

Somewhat off topic, I ran into Glenn Danzig once when he was performing in town and he came into my comic book store to buy some stuff. It happened that he was performing right across the street from Lyle Lovett on the same night. I mentioned this to him and he said, disdainfully, ``Lyle Lovett? Pffft!''. So I wonder what he thinks about Johnny Cash performing one of his songs.

I dunno, I think just the fact that Johnny is covering stuff like this makes it cool in an odd and creepy way Would ya rather have Blink182 covering NIN?

The man in black still has it...

Yeah, i see your point... I dunno... it just seems beneath my image of Mr. Cash. It's not that it isn't musically good, cause it is... it's a matter of principle! heheh. Ah well... to each his own...

... i'm going to listen to some Woodie Guthrie to clense myself of the modern Cash... lol.

Lyle Lovett and Johnny Cash are way different singers and way different people, I would have to thing that Glenn Danzig would like Johnny Cash a whole lot more the Lyle Lovett

Sorry to chime in late with such a dumb question - but what is the name of the album?

Bite your tounge... The new album is not the best of the American series, but it has some fantasic cuts. The Title track is pure Cash goodness.

However "Bridge Over Troubled Water" I seriously could have doen without...

And "The Man in Black" is a much better autobiography than "Cash". He cut out most of his dasterdly deeds from the latter...

(EDIT: The new album is "American IV - The Man Comes Around")

You should have heard him do a duet with "One Bad Pig" titled "The Man in Black"

Album was "I Scream Sundae".

PM if you want to hear it.
