DirecTV is offering the Hughes HDVR2 (A Series 2 Tivo box with 2 DirecTV tuners built in) for $159 and free install to current DirecTV subscribors. If you have DirecTV, Tivo service is only $5.95 a month AND it is per household. So if you have 3 Tivos in your house, that $5.95 covers them all.

Two cool things about these boxes is that they have 2 tuners so you can record two shows while watching a previously recorded 3rd program. Best yet, the mpeg stream is recorded straight from the tuner - there is NO additional compression/decompression.

I have this box and love it (has Dolby Digital Toslink output too). I'm about to order another one to replace my standalone Sony DirecTV box. I came across this offer and thought I'd pass it on.

I one for $189 is for the top of the line dish that has 3 LNB's (for a total of 6 outputs - ie. you could hook up a lot of tuners to this thing!)

Each Tivo/DirecTV box can take two inputs, so havn't extra inputs helps.

The Phillips 7000 is the same thing as the Hughes HDVR2 (built at the same factory).
