w2k-hysteria
I know there's a good joke here somewhere, but I'm having trouble finding it. Someone else want to step up to the plate?

I'm sure there is. But I should really start to re-read my messages before I press "Continue". I of course intended to write "y2k", but the recent windows worm flyrry seems to have afected my subconcious...

Oh, happy day. My dock arrived this afternoon. According to Canada Post's tracking page, it went out on the 11th, so that makes exactly 5 days. I wasn't expecting it quite that soon.

I have seen many pictures and ready many comments, so I knew what kind of quality to expect. Still, I am amazed. I just pulled it out of the box and hooked it up to a small stereo here at work. Again, I just want to express my thanks for all your hard work (and attention to detail!), Mark. It's a job very well done, and I can't wait to get it home and make a permanent place for it by tossing some junk off of my desk.

I just got my new dock.
I agree that it is really well-made.
My first thoughts were:
1) I wonder how I get the fan to turn on. Maybe I have to set some temperature setting in Hijack.
2) Oh, the fan is on. Nice and quiet.

Thanks guys! SWMBO and I worked very hard to come up with an assembly that is quiet with the fan running. It took a while. Dock #001 has a much noisier fan (as whoever won it in the Amersfoort raffle knows by now), and Dock #002 was quieter. Then we modified the design, and now SWMBO tunes each one by hand. If for whatever reason your fan is NOT spinning when the player is not in standby, then it's also field-adjustable by opening up the dock. Only one person I know of has had to do this.

Cheers
