My order #89 finally came up (placed on Feb 3, 2003) but I don't remember it being so expensive. The email shows the cost at 120 sterling pounds, which is $196 USD. I have been under the impression that these would cost under $100 USD. I guess the cost has exceeded my point of diminished returns, I just want to check that this is what everyone else has paid.

Sounds about right. I paid £105 for order #17 and that was including the 10% discount for the first 50 orders. Also I'm in the UK.
[edit]You may be thinking of the original tuner module which was significantly cheaper[/edit]

The first figure that Patrick quoted as 'viable' during prototyping was 110UKP. This was before the final details had been worked out, and it crept to 120UKP before any orders were taken. I think that your memory is playing tricks on you.

Note that it is still 110 UKP, plus shipping.

That, and the dollar lost a bit of ground against the pound.

Strange.. My order says 120UKP. That must include shipping..? (I'm not complaining, just curious.)

Me.

Well I really don't like radio that much anyway! Patrick please cancel my order and let the next person in line get theirs. Sorry it didn't work out, but I do appreciate your effort in coming out with a tuner design.

On a side note, I am planning on a new car purchase by next spring and my riocar won't be allowed to follow. Does anyone have advice on the going rate for a 20GB riocar if I sell it?
