Does anyone read this forum and NOT read Riovolution? Do I need to dual post here?

Just had a look at the Karma forum and the majority seem to be about how there is a new iPod and the lack of a new Karma.

A large proportion of the users on Riovolution have huge avatar pictures and even larger banners at the end of their posts. Ick

The only vaguely interesting part was about the 40GB upgrades. Nothing really amazing or complicated though. It seems you just buy a new drive online, crack the Karma open, swap the drives and then get your dremel out.

I only read riovolution when someone mentions it here. Should I go there now? Is there anything there for which I should be looking?

I have even refered one topic from over there to be reposted here, the remote post. They are looking for whether the remote port is activated in the software. I think Rob here stated that it could be if a product was actually being worked on, or something like that...

Yeah...
They won't enable the support unless someone is working on a remote; but nobody can work on a remote without support for it...

Wow, now that's circular logic, wouldn't you say so? Can't design a remote without firmware support to test it with (thus coming far before the stages of manufacturing anything); and they won't enable firmware support without someone manufacturing something.

I read neither, but I'm still waiting for the next line of HDD players.

I was here around the time the Rio Karma was being released. I remember someone sneaking a picture or two of the Karma before release. That's not going to happen this time, is it?

No I think you're reading this wrongly.
The statement about this should be read as follows:

They won't enable the support unless someone is working on an Officially SanctionedTM remote for the Karma.

Thats a big difference.

I haven't heard from anyone expressing any interest in manufacturing a remote control for the Karma. We certainly wouldn't hold back a third party who was realistically interested in doing so.
