.........? The only article I could find on that (won't post it because it's loaded with pop ups) didn't clarify my question at all. It simply mentioned Phenomenauts and Rio in the same paragraph. Odd.

The Phenomenauts Go Rio
press release (pfa media) reports: East Bay space rockers The Phenomenauts are on a galactic mission to transport "rocket roll" to the far reaches of the known galaxy, and now the blazingly inventive Rio Forge Player has touched down to blast a powerful personal payload directly to your earthling ears. Recently covered in Time Magazine, Rio Forge features The Phenomenauts' underground classic "The Year 2000" in their promo for the latest generation of flash based players, the Rio Forge 256MB Sport Player. On their second CD, "Re-Entry," set for a Nov. 16 release on Springman Records, The Phenomenauts deliver rollicking pop/punk songs that confront such topics as intergalactic travel and the U.S. space program. The Phenomenauts dress in authentic spacesuits, travel in a spaceship powered by rocket roll and rely on bizarre gadgetry such as the "streamerator," a tricked-out leaf blower that fires toilet paper into their adoring crowd at their always amped-up gigs.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

looks like the forge was preloaded with some of their tracks.

I'm guessing they're like the 'Leon' character from the Budweiser ads during the series, entirely invented by the advertising agency.
