Got a MK2 empeg with working dock in car.
Just bought a new Rio branded empeg which works on DC in the house but no power when in existing sled in car.
Are Empeg/Rio sleds wired differently or have I got another prob?

Cheers

The sled wiring is basically identical so it's something else. I think there was a difference on some of them regarding the serial port not being grounded but that won't affect you.

Love you!
Yep, my sled in the car is only wired I can best describe as 'half heartedly', so i'm pretty sure it only has one wire to positive and one to ground so that looks like the cure.
Nice one!

This will probably help my problem with my other empeg, which restarts whenever I restart the engine and cuts out when I turn the lights on full beam (I must have driven 10k miles with my lights on low to stop my empeg cutting out!) ;-)

2 and 2A have slightly different internal circuitry in the power supply. If the fuse on the sled is blown, then the 2A will not power up but the 2 will. The 2A behaviour is the better one.
