Hi.

Anyone here work for IBM, or know someone who does? I'm looking for a pinout or preferably a datasheet for an 85G2050 LCD panel, which I think was used in one or more of the thinkpad 7xx series machines. It's an 800x600 panel, which seems to be referred to both as DSTN or TFT depending on source. Obviously it's only one of these, and I'm hoping TFT, which seems likely looking at the number of pins on the connector. Unfortunately there seems to be no data around on which pin does what, and it may take some time by trial and error.

I've had luck getting information on LCD displays and panels at the EIO website. They have forums and mailing lists, that would be the place to look for someone who would know.

I have a SHARP LQ10D367 10.4" TFT LCD with cable and backlight inverter and pinout (full datasheet from sharp.)

EDIT more info: resolution: 640x480, Color: 18-bit, power: 5 volt

I was saving it to use in my I-Opener if they ever got the BIOS hacked to support TFT's. I've waited too long already though.

I'll give it to you free if you take a look at my MK2 (or for a cheap if you can't).

I found this pinout for a 85G0500, but it may be wildly different from your screen.

EDIT:
According to a post here it looks like they may be interchangeable with the right flex cable:

Anyway, here are the part numbers for the two types of DTI TFT screens for the TP755Cx:
