I am thinking about adding some capacity to my empeg, but already have two drives installed.

The first drive is smaller, so I'd like to replace that one... but how do I do it ???
I guess this is going to be more complicated than just adding a second drive...
(that mission I accomplished thanks to the link I found somewhere on this board - even though I didn' really know what I was doing...)

To make it even more complicated: I'd really like to keep the stuff that's on there right now...

So is this going to be a horror-trip or can even I do that ?

Have you read my FAQ entry on the subject? There should be instructions there on how to replace drive0 while preserving all your music.

You'll lose all the equalizer presets and some of the configuration options, but those are easy enough to plug back in by hand if you write them down ahead of time.

Wow, thanks, that doesn't look too complicated !

Actually I was browsing through the board before, but I thought that post was for upgrading harddisk-firmware or something...

Damn, maybe I should wait for these 48ers...?

Inside info: IBM has a 60gig laptop drive in the works which they plan to announce as soon as 48gig drives from other manufacturers become generally available.

Figures, as the areal density of the 48GB is actually less than the 30GB drive - I have no idea how they manage to fit 4 platters and 8 heads into a 12.5mm drive though!
