So then, did anyone else catch the last ep of this great series? A tad confusing I thought. I tried reading the discussion thread on DigitalSpy but it made my head hurt.

I saw all of series 1, but this is the only one of series 2 I have seen. It ended as we expected, but I agree, there is no actual definite explanation. It could be that he is in a vegetative state, or he could just have been mental or....

good though:)

I wonder if the US remake will be any good? My guess is the first episode will be pretty faithful, but they will meddle with it so that the storyline could last six seasons of 22 episodes.

edit: Or it would be very good, get a cult viewership, and then it would then be cancelled halfway through the second season leaving the story unfinished.

I never got into this, I suppose it's a bit like Doctor Who for me I don't think I've ever made it through a whole show.

Like Lost I think if you missed to start you're buggered.

SWMBO & I only just started watching (reruns) of the modern Dr.Who this winter, in 1080i courtesy of the CBC and our newish Myth box. Great stuff.

We just now(!) finished watching the 2nd-to-last episode of 2005 ("Bad Wolf"), only to discover that it was part 1 of 2, and due to the NHL ice hockey playoffs now beginning they won't be showing part 2 ("The Parting of the Ways").

Of course Wikipedia has the full plot details for that episode, so we're not left cliff-hanging. But it would be nice to find someone with a copy somewhere that we could watch. Does the BBC have downloads for it in the UK ?

Cheers

My local PBS station just started broadcasting the new Doctor Who as well. The 5th episode will air this Saturday, so it will be a while until I get caught up to you. And of all the stupid things, they are broadcasting it on their SD channel, rather than in HD.

I watched a handful of them, but I thought it was tedious. Every epsiode was the same story over and over again. Starts with "oh, we don't like your new fangled ways" move onto "see your new fangled ways make things worse" ending with "oh bugger, your new fangled ways actually worked, we love you".

To be fair there were episodes which had more of a "The old ways seem to work really well when the only way to get info is to beat the scrotes up" kinda feel

Pretty much every TV programme suffers from the same issue as what you're describing is the fundamental premise of the series.

Every doctor Doctor Who features the Doctor battling an alien/tyrant of some sort.

Every casualty episode starts with people being admitted to A&E with ending with some of them dying and some of them surviving.

Every episode of the office had David Brent being a tit and Tim hating his job and holding a torch for Dawn.

Every episiode of Top Gear has Jeremy Clarkson ridiculing James May and Richard Hammond.

Don't get me wrong, I like every one of the progammes I've listed there, but I follow the plot not the premise.
