Has anyone at empeg looked at this? I noticed they say Clamor does excellent speech recognition in cars with the windows down, etc. They say they have it for the StrongArm platform.

We've been looking at *lots* of VR systems, from many suppliers. Quite a few are designed for in-car use and have typical car noise cancellation features.

We've employed a new programmer (starting next month) who will get, as one of his first tasks, the job of bringing together all of the VR work and getting the functionality into a release as soon as possible.

The programmer is John Graley, who some RISC OS users may remember as the author of the demo !FunkyDemo. Most recently he has worked on digital audio systems at a well known microprocessor design company in Cambridge. Welcome aboard John!

From next month the development team will consist of 8 programmers, 1 intern programmer, Mike (lead programmer), Hugo (director engineering) and me (development management).

Admin consists of three service/support people plus one mail room operator.

So, 16 people in Cambridge now. I'd better update the geek site soon - I think the geek:pointyhair ratio just got better.
