Can't believe its been 10 years since I first installed an empeg in my car (and participated here.)

I must have been smarter then... reading some posts (including my own) leave me with a strange feeling that I haven't kept up.

In any case, my Mk2 is going into a new vehicle soon.

Regards to old and new friends.

Cheers,

Mark

I got my Mk2 in mid-2000, where it slotted nicely into the dashboard of my Z3. That car's gone, and the replacement Audi A3(and my wife's Acura TL) have nowhere to put an aftermarket stereo system, what with all the in-dash cross-component integration going on these days.

The Audi has crappy iPod support (mapping it to a virtual six-disc CD changer) and the Acura has nothing. It all feels like a giant step backward.

I'm glad my Passat had a 2-DIN radio and it was possible to get an installation kit so that I could install the empeg and a Pioneer AVIC-X1R. Still haven't found out how to get text from the empeg onto the display in the dashboard though.
