I just added a couple MP3s to my empeg & synced. I'd like to leave work NOW, but my empeg started the integrity. Can I stop it safely by unplugging?

If you really must unplug it during filesystem intergity check (fsck), be sure to make another sync allowing the check to proceed first thing when you plug it on again. Probably nothing bad will happen, as those fscks are only a precaution, but interrupting a fsck that did find something to repair is a Vary Bad Thing (TM).

Let me reitarate a frequent wishlist item: an emplode checkbox saying 'Don't fsck this time unless absolutely necessary', and perhaps another, 'I am going to take a little nap, fsck now'
