If you get a strong full meter signal strength radio station but the RDS signal is coming & going on it is that normal? Wouldn't the RDS be as strong since it's buried in with the signal?
Sometimes the RDS gives strange characters on the station ID but most of the time its right. I assume it's from a weak RDS signal & the empeg is getting it scrambled. For instance I sometimes get the ID as WKDQ@ or WMDQ(should be WKDQ), the time may show up once in awhile as well but not too consistent.
Thanks

Generally there wouldn't be any problems, I've not seen any in the UK on a full strength signal. The only thing I can think of is that their RDS encoder isn't correctly tweaked (or badly set up) and they don't really notice as there are so few receivers!

The name chaning occasionally is due to errors that are being slightly over-enthusiastically corrected by the RDS error correction code; I think we need to limit how big errors it will correct!

Thanks I'm going to see if it's possible to get the station to look into why theyre RDS isn't working right or at least get some info on it from them.

I know there is a thread somewhere on this, but I couldn't find it... can someone give me a link?

I just got my tuner & every once in a while it attenuates to about 5% volume (not the adjustable volumn, some other volume). From what I remember, switching stations doesn't correct it, I need to switch to standby & back on before the volume comes back up. This happens at least once a drive.

The signal level reads near full strength when this has happened.

I noticed that it happened once when my sister slammed the car door. Could this be a physical connection?

Has anyone seen this?

-Jeremy

Once in awhile my amp (I say one because I have two, 1-front/highs,1-back/lows) doesn't get turned on when I get a low voltage indicator and I loose my bass (rear-amp). Strange enough if I cycle thru the sources & back to original source the amp turns on. I use to think it happened only to the tuner but the other day, after a short trip, got into car, started it & lost the bass (amp) playing files not the tuner. Once again battery icon lights up, so it's associated w/the low voltage, I assume the player can't turn on the amp remote wire because of low power. I have new battery, new clamps & wire so I know it's not them I'm going to check the alternator for I do have a rather high output rear amp.

I am still getting this same issue (5% volume issue - station full strength, switching stations doesn't help). Has anyone else seen it yet?
