I have a problem. I selected a bookmark (bookmark 3) that I had not previously set to anything since installing 2.0beta.

The player app crashed and restarted. It now starts up with an empty playlist, but then reboot repeatedly. I tried nuking /dev/hda3 to try and clear out the current running order, but that hasn't helped.

Here is what i get on the serial port when it boots:

I tried deleting the database and playlists files to see if that would help, but it didn't. My player is still stuck in a reboot loop...

Do you have notify or timecodes enabled in config.ini? They don't seem to go well with empty playlist, with the same symptoms. If so, try to kill the player with Ctrl-C from the serial port. If you are fast enough, you will manage to drop to the shell. If not, you will have to downgrade to 1.03, edit config.ini, then reaply 2.0b3.

I did have timecodes enabled, I removed them but that didn't help. I reapplied 2.0beta3, but that didn't help. I am now going to try downgrading to 1.03 and upgrading again.

I downgraded to 1.03 and selected a playlist so I no longer had an empty playlist. I then upgraded to 2.0beta3 again and the problem was resolved.

It appears that my player dislikes empty playlists, even when notify and timecodes are not enabled...

(glug glug glug) One case later...

FITNR. Sadly there's no workaround, except the one you found of making sure the player never starts with an empty playlist.

I have "set" all my bookmarks to make sure that I don't get an empty playlist that way. I will be avoiding emplode until 2.0b4, just in case it leaves me in an empty playlist after a sync...
