When I bring the dimmer to 80% or less, the bottom row of pixels are darker than the others. At 90% or above, all of the pixels are evenly bright. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Same here. Only on one of my two players though.

Does anyone think it is hardware problem? The reason it bugs me is that has the effect that the display is shifted down, obscuring the last row of text. I guess it is more apparent to me since I also can't see the first 3 characters on the top row due to the fascia, and any obscuring of the display really shows up.

My Mk2a does so, too. But the effect appears at 60% or lower dimmer settings.
