I saw how someone used a lead acid battery to power the empeg. Do you just hook it up directly to the empeg or what?

A 12Volt lead acid battery can be connected directly to the home power connector on the back of the empeg.

Make sure you use the correct 2.1mm DC power plug and most importantly centre positive. I would recommend a fuse (5A) near the battery connection and a reverse biased power diode (say 3A) in parallel with the connector.

Err.. and your car battery is what exactly?

if it's 12 volts DC and capable of providing 1 amp of power, it's suitable.
