I own a 95 Mitsu Eclipse GST, I only have the riocar as my head unit.

When I first got it, I installed it.. It worked fine.. When I put the whole unit in it didn't work.. I used the Black(Ground), Yellow and Blue(Amp) .. Basically it looks like theres no power... But when I use the ac adapter it worked fine..

I have a multimeter.. checked the wires working.. it has power.. can anyone help me?

Is it a must? I don't remember putting that.. I only had 3 wires and it ran..

I know I had to turn on the engine to have the riocar running..

what is the orange for?

You must wire it correclty in order for it to work.

You need the yellow wire connected to constant 12v power, the orange wire connected to ignition-switched 12v power, and the blue wire connected to your amplifier's blue wire. Also check the fuses on the wires and the car's fuse box.

This is basic "car-stereo-101" stuff, so please grab this document for information on how to install car stereos in general.

i am having the same problem actually. When i first got it i tested it with AC adaptor, worked fine. Today i connected ground (black), constant (yellow), and switched (orange) and tested each wire many times with a meter to double check. But the Rio still won't power up. Is it possible to ship my new player with it stuck in "home" mode?

it's not my car either, i switched back to stock HU and it worked. Battery is giving out 12V.

Make sure the inline fuse on the yellow wire isn't blown...

i got it working.. apparently my car hardness is wired incorrectly.. my orange wire on rio is plugged to blue on the car.. its just the head unit alone.. it worked fine.. my amp has another blue wire hanging..so i plug that blue to rio blue wire.. worked like a charm..

i also upgraded to beta11.. it rocked!

thanks for all your help.. i went to the install doctor and check my color hardness wiring.. check google for website..
