I just loaded like, 1300 mp3's onto my player and for some reason it takes almost a full minute to load playlists and databases. Why is that? Does anyone else have this problem?

Define "load".

Were you using emptool for this? If so, it has a nasty habit of continuously (I mean continuously) polling the player while the player restarts.. which slows the restart down by about two orders of magnitude..

Hit control^Z instead, to suspend it, then do "fg" once the player is up and running.

But yes, it's fine to just kill it, too.

I am running the beta version of empeg car that was right before the new empeg car Version 2.00-beta11 if that helps.
It does seem to want to poll and it eventually comes on and works fine but for short trips it sucks having to wait for it to boot up.

Fire up emplode on your PC and see what it does with it.
