I missed the annoucement of the new iPod a couple days ago. 10GB, contact manager, no mention of Apple-made Windows software.

And there is also a software upgrade for the original 5 gig version, which adds the new EQ and Contact features (along with some bug fixes).

You'll need access to a Mac to appy the update though...

Where's the 20 GB model? The series drive it uses is available in a 20 GB version from Toshiba.

I'm not sure what glich you mean...
You have always been able to use the iPod as a firewire drive, by ticking the box in iTunes (this mode is also used to put the contacts onto it!)
I have a couple of hundred megs of software on mine, and it's never caused a problem.

The best bit is they have fixed the track ending prematurely bug... =)

Well, you can steal software off computers on display in stores. Check it out:

You have no idea how ironic that statement sounds to those on the empeg alpha team.

That's just a side effect of the firewire disc support, it's not a glitch as such. =)

Mind you, the iPod comes in a plastic wrapper with "Don't Steal Music" written on it. Maybe they need to update that to say "Don't Steal Music or Software".

No big deal, it's just that before the public 2.0 betas, there was an internal bug where the ends of songs would get cut off. Go figure...
