Hey y'all, it looks like the Mark II will really, actually ship. I am filled with pleasure. There is one dark cloud looming over my little parade, however. I know just about nothing about car audio installations. Now, I know you're all thinking, "mafisto, buddy, how could someone as muscular and important as yourself not know these things?" My reply would entail a subconcious flexing of the pectorals and some muttering about a "wasted youth", but the reality remains the same: I would be screwed if I had a Mark II in my sweaty hands right now.

So I guess I should posit the question now. Does anyone on the BBS live in Minneapolis, MN, USA that has had a Mark I installed? Or perhaps you live here, and will have a Mark II installed. Either way, I would like to hook up with YOU to figure out where the best place in the cities would be to get the job done. Not being an audiophile, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

mafisto:
Three things...
1) I have a Mark I empeg installed in my car.
2) I live in the Twin Cities.
3) How much you willing to pay?

I should clarify - I have not yet installed an Empeg unit.

My experience is with traditional stereo equipment - but I am confident I can handle the job if you would like the help.

Woo hoo! When it gets near that Mark II time of the year, I'll send you a message. I have a freaky car audio friend that may want to look in on the installation as well... everyone seems to be mesmerized by the whole idea of an Empeg. Are you getting that Mark I from jschrieb? That would be a tremendous learning experience.

Okay, will keep in touch. If it's possible, it would be cool to get a few new Mark II owners together to look at first installations in the Cities. We could become incrementally more knowledgable about install quirks as we get more of the units in. I'm not talking about a club with secret decoder rings, just a few hours of posturing and lying about how much we personally know.

P.S. spell check sucks on this board. Bwaahahah!

Sounds good to me. I didn't pick up that Mark1 yet. I should have one soon though. I have found one for sale in Germany, and one in Austrailia. I'm hoping to find one at least on this continent to save on the shipping & stuff. I'm still waiting to hear from 'jschrieb'. We're also getting so close to the MKII release I may just wait. I thought I'd have my new truck by now, but now it is going to be another 2 month wait to get it. Let's keep in touch none the less.

Wanna sell your MKI? E-mail me. :)
