Hi all,

I have decided to install my empeg through my sony xplod HU. Problem is, my Sony doesn't have an Aux in. I'm looking for an adapter so that it can read the Empeg as a CD changer. I think the part I need is the Sony RC62, I can't confirm it though because I can't find a picture of this part, and the description is sparse. Has anybody done a similar set up, and know which part I need? Thanks for any help

I don't see a picture either, but that's the cable. That part number is the long version, there is a short version as well that you might get instead if the empeg will mount next to the Sony.

If you have a moderately new Sony HU with the "Unilink" setup, again, that's a good cable for it.

Alternatively, if you're handy with PIC chips (or know someone who is...) there is always: gnunilink.sourceforge.net

My Sony is almost two years old. Do you think the Unilink will do what I need? Will it will allow the Empeg to be hooked up through the Sony?

Its in the experimental stage, but yes, it fools the headunit into accepting an AUX input, I believe by emulating the bit of Sony kit which allows you to do the same...

I would however check up on the whole Sony xplode thing as I dunno what thats all about.

I had a Pioneer system which I just spliced the aux into, but now my car is gonna be only for the empeg

Crutchfield has a page that lists all their Aux-In adapters, including a Sony one, but it's not the one you reference. It's also $100.
