My tivo won't make the daily call. When I try to do a test call I get failed couldn't connect. I have "phone avail detection" and "dial tone detection" set to off. I have a phone with a line status indicator on the same line as the tivo and when I make the test call the line is never in use.

Any suggestions would be great.

I tried it again and with the phone off the hook I hear a click when it trys dialing but I don't hear and tones.

OK now I rebooted and unplugged and replugged the unit in now it works. Previously I just rebooted.

FWIW I've fixed good old fashioned regular modem & NIC problems that way too, especially docking stations. Go figure...
