Selling the 20GB Travelstar 2.5" drive from my Empeg for $85 USD. I can load this drive with the Empeg software of your choice, all you'll have to do is pop it in. (Not to infringe on your concept, Brad B ) Buyer to pay actual shipping by whatever means you prefer.

PM me or drop me a line at [email protected] .

Sold to me
Going to put it in my MKl so I'll have a little more than just the 5GB it has now. And since the warranty is past I can open it up and do it myself.

Keep in mind that if you're upgrading an MK1, you'll need to order a special kind of IDE cable since the drives in an MK1 don't work master/slave on one cable.

Oh, thanks, I didn't know that. I better go read the FAQ on how to do the upgrade or just make it a 20GB.

Also not sure if the drive is the right size or not, may be too tall. I'm waiting to hear back so it might not be sold. That will teach me to read the FAQ first next time which will make Tony even prouder.

I've just checked : according to the IBM site, there are four models of 20Gb. (see here)
Of three of the models, the datasheet can be found. All drives have a physical height of 9.5 mm!

The last drive that doesn't have a datasheet is a 5400RPM model. I dont believe the Empeg guys ever used those in their players. Wouldn't make much sense too, very overkill....

So considering you can add drives up to 14mm, I'd say you're pretty safe!
Feeling better now?

I received this in the mail yesterday. Thank you so much. I just wanted to post this so others know there are still honest people selling on this board.
