My empeg is making progress: Install in the Insight is done. 2.0b7 and hijack (V137?) installed. 5GB of music uploaded (need to check KaZaA for more 8-), all is well, EXCEPT:

My player reboots by itself.

I was listening to it at home and noticed the music would pause for a few seconds once in a while. When I caught it doing it, I saw the empeg logo and the regular startup stuff on the screen.

It also does it when turned off (blue LED flashing). I left it off at night and imagine my surprise when I woke up a little later to the music playing! Now I turn the volume to -inf before turning the player off 8-)

Any comments?

Thanks!
Armin

First, try running it with 1.03. It basically has no bugs, as opposed to 2.0b7. If it still reboots, talk to us again. If not, for now, you'll have to choose between bugless and featureful.

Edit your config.ini (using Emplode, or ftp), and add these lines:
[Startup]

ReserveCache=8

See if that fixes things, and please report back!

Definitely install version 1.03 of the software and see if the problem goes away. If it does, stay at 1.03 until the rebooting bugs have been ironed out of the 2.0 betas.

When they say "beta", they mean it.

Mark,

I decided to try your patch, first (also upgraded to the latest Hijack). Let's see how it goes...

Thanks for the help!
