I've just been given a new ipaq with bluetooth, any good software worth downloading?

you'll probably want to get sprite backup (and a memory card) so that you don't have to reinstall everything when the battery goes flat! My ipaq (2210) came with an earlier version, but the new version is much better.

Also "icbar" and the windows xp theme, makes the pocket pc look much cooler.

Damn, I had a nice post written and then the window closed while I was moving an IR keyboard I'm not using right now. Argh.

I just got an iPAQ 2215 which also has BT which I've been using for syncing.

Anyway, the software I've already decided to purchase:

Pocket Informant: PIM (calendar, contacts, etc...) MUCH better than built-in apps. Works with all the same data so regular activesync gets you all your stuff from Outlook. $29 I believe

Resco File Explorer: Much more windows-like than the built-in File Viewer. Very powerful indeed. Includes FTP and Registry Editor plugins. Also supports image viewing and archive files.

Resco Image Viewer: Better than built-in app and iPAQ Viewer. Available with in a "Utility" bundle with the above Resco app plus a Task-controlling program for $30.

I'll likely also get Battery Pack because it looks very useful and seems to be best-in-class.

Other programs I'm about to start looking at:

eWallet (for passwords and accounts and credit cards etc..)
Calligrapher (commercial version of built-in transcriber for input of natural handwriting + some extras)
PhatNotes (notes program integrates with Calligrapher and now also works well with Pocket Informant - PI customers get $10 off)

I'm also thinking about using the iPAQ with GPS software for in-car navigation. The two programs I'm looking at for that are Destinator and Routis. They're pretty much the best choices for Canada. I suppose Teletype is also looking good. But everything else is out of the question for Canada. For US or Europe there are some other interesting choices like TomTom.
