Was running Developer 2beta7 + v162hijack

While doing a fairly small empload to my unit, it died with a synchronization error
Since then it hasn't booted - I've tried reinstalling Developer 2beta7, beta3 & consumer v1.03
All these say that they have installed correctly, but no joy

I even tried car2-builder-20011022.upgrade, but this made no change, although it said it finished successfully.
When I logged in though, all of the music files where still there

When it boots, I get
'
'
Starting player
player(7): memory violation at pc=0x0212d43c, lr=0x0212d3ec (bad address=0x0b1a1f99, code 2)

Does anyone have a clue what is happening? (full boot messages attached)

cheers,
Craig

Hmmm, for some reason the attachment doesn't seem to have loaded completely - anyway the relevant bits are:

Try doing a memory test, described here.

Should /empeg/var/config.ini be human readable?
When I try & cat it from hyperterm, it appears to be a binary file

Craig

This post appears to describe similar symptoms, but no resolution. Could this one be connected? Probably not, as andy successfully downgraded to 1.03 and got the player running, and it didn't help you.
Here Hugo offers some advice which may be useful, although it looks like it will gub your volume settings, current visual etc, but must be worth a try.

Right,

did the following 2 things:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/empeg_state bs=128 count=1
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda3 bs=1k count=16

still no joy, however if I now try & install consumerv1.03 or 2.00b3 I get
Error "Flash program failed" occurred during stage 0x11
Can't now get into linux

I guess I'm going to have to work out who to send it back to....
cheers,
Craig

Oh joy, they are no longer doing phone support - email only. Not a good sign....
Can please someone update the FAQ to remove the mention of the phone numbers.

Have you tried running the software they provide that rebuilds everything from scratch? This is different from the standard "version" installs.

Yup, that was the car2-builder-20011022.upgrade - even though it seemed to work, it didn't blow anything away...

cheers,
Craig
