The pelican cases are exceptionally tough, and the 1200 is a very good fit for the empeg. One thing to bear in mind, though, is that the ends of the screws that connect the handle to the case protrude into the inside of the thing a little, around 3-4mm. I would suggest that it would be a good idea to cut the foam so that the faceplate of the empeg was towards the back of the case rather than the front, or in an impact is might be possible for the screws to make contact with the faceplate and scratch it. That said, my brother has one, and so far after a few knocks nothing bad has happened.

For toughness, I haven't seen much that will beat the things. My sister's boyfriend is a professional caver, and keeps all his gear in various sizes of pelican case. You should see some of them! Scraped to hell after being dropped 80 feet down a 45-degree slope under the mendips, for instance, without a mark on the camera inside.
