2.0 Kernel != Hijack, but from an installation standpoint they both suffer from the same basic problem on the Mac.

The deal is that I have yet to get figure out how to get a reliable serial connection w/ Java on the Mac. Interestingly you might have better odds with OS 9 than X, but you're kind of on your own getting it configured (you'd have to track down a javax.comm implementation for 9).

I'm getting closer on this problem (I am actually at least able to see the Empeg over a KeySpan USB serial adapter in OS X, but it fails when downloading the database), but it's not something that's going to happen any time soon (this is a fairly low priority).

In the meantime, the only option for getting Hijack and/or the latest kernel on is to either run VirtualPC (several people have reported success with this) or find a friend with a Windows box that you can borrow just long enough to install both of them.
