Much more life left in these than a unit that has been used hours per day for a year or two!

The hard drive is a replaceable component. Nothing else in it seems to particularly have any state other than the the usual digital state: it works or it doesn't.

I have no players to sell you, so I have no self-interest. It's just an observation.
