Try plugging a cheap 10mbps hub between the "no-go" empeg and the wireless bridge. It will probably start working.

There have been reports of the car player sometimes not working when connected to certain brands of hubs, switches, and bridges. The solution is to daisy chain a working hub between the incompatible device and the empeg.
