Okay i will put the MX5 back on the short list but not a brand new one as those headlights are just Too yuck the old pop up headlights are far nicer

Agreed. In that case you can get a very good low mileage MX5 for well under 10k, leaving you plenty of cash to add a supercharger (take it from about 130bhp to something like 180bhp) and upgrade the brakes ;-)

Oh and adding an empeg is easy, it has two DIN slots to play with and hidden space to put an amp. Adding a sub woofer takes some thinking though:
