Hey, there is such thing as being too careful: a colegue of mine was very careful to lock the office room when we went for lunch or such (the building being guarded, access cards and all) to the point or returning halfway from the restaurant if he forgot to do it. After I spent one lunchbreak with him 'calculating' the effort and worry about his, say, expensive pens being stolen all the time vs. trouble if they actually do, he loosened up.

Come on, we would just like to know approximate geographical anf cat type-wise distribution of empegs. After all, you did provide your name, job and geographical area...
