The scene: Mike's sitting at his workstation, his new 4-monitor setup humming along nicely. All four monitors are scrolling packet traces of a large ethernet download. Rob approaches from behind.

Mike: Whoa! Rob. You scared the bejeezus outta me.

Rob: Sorry.

Mike: It's okay.

Rob: Is that...

Mike: ...the new download protocol? Yeah.

Rob: Do you always look at it encoded?

Mike: Well, you have to. If the player crashes during the download, there's no way to recover what data got sent. And there's way too much information to store in a log file. You get used to it. I don't even see the code any more. All I see is Green Day, Pearl Jam, Britney Spears...
