I agree, A1 bad - so if I am on the east, I get to Newcastle and then use the A68 and associated roads (A68 has no cameras at the moment). End up coming through Jedburgh after a good zap over hills. When I've been down in Cornwall I always come up M5, M6, M74 and A702 which does give a good wake-up after the boredom that is motorway driving!
