I was just corresponding with Richard, and he doesn't think it's a size problem. He suggested that it might possibly have something to do with the way you guys are building the kernels, but he's not sure.

The next test is to build a plain-vanilla kernel from Empeg's pure sources and see if that induces the problem. If it does, then I'll see if I can grab just a plain kernel file from Mike and we'll go from there.
