I did the same when I installed it and haven't had any problems either. I did find a non-corrosive silicone adhesive which looks good. Stu, do you see any problems with this adhesive?

Noncorrosive to copper and brass, this RTV silicone paste reaches full strength at room temp. Use to bond capacitors, resistors, and integrated circuits to printed circuit boards. Also use to insulate relays, exposed copper wires and terminals. Begins to harden in 4 hrs.; reaches full strength in 48 hrs. Temp. range is -75° to +400° F. UL recognized. Color is white. Meets MIL-A-46146B.
